Fandom Radio, Saturday, November 22

Good morning, everyone! It is I, Miss Lydia Bennet, here to bring you all the news of yesterday! As documented by the squirrels, of course, so if your particular news item has been misrepresented, do blame the rodents. Let's begin, shall we?

At the school, Driver's Education and Weather & Storms both watched films. Educational ones, I'm sure. I've no notes for the dormitory, the porg is sobbing, it's a whole scene, moving along to the town, where Mr. Henry of Skalitz was reviewing his finances at the forge. There was a Thanksgiving movie playing at the theatre, where Miss Faden stopped by and Mr. Barnes commented on her mode of dress. Compliments only, I hope. Miss Skywalker was struggling with the course at her warehouse, whilst at Needful Things Dr. Quinn took down the Halloween decorations--just in time to decorate for Christmas! Mr. Lucifer was providing musical entertainment at The Devil's Nest, and Mr. Gregorith, with the aid of technology, enjoyed a film with his friends back home...and that does appear to be the last of my notes. I could do with a bit more gossip, you know, squirrels. Something snappy.

*chittering*

Apparently, they do not take requests. Alas. Until next week, dear listeners, farewell!

Fandom Radio, Friday, November 21, 2025

Good morning, it's Steve--

*chittering*

I am not the wrong Steve, thank you, I'm just not the correct one for radio. Anyway, here's what happened yesterday. In classes, Belle was trying to figure out the card game the gremlins were playing in the library--

*chittering*

The squirrels say it wasn't strip poker. Steve and Tony were out of town, which explains why I here, Zombie Apocalypse was cancelled and I definitely don't wonder if she knows something the rest of us don't, and Food Adventures finished up learning how to make proper pizza in Rome. Danny approves. I'm sure it'd be better with pineapple.

*chittering*

I know it was invented in Canada. It's good in Hawaii, too.

In town, Thor was avoiding the Devil's Nest Christmas tree, Watts and Steven make plans to see an exhibit about accessibility in London, and Supper Club went out for pho because the weather's turning. Rey taught Henry about money so that he can also buy a cozy coat. Lydia's not excited about Thanksgiving, but that might just be because she's never played in the traditional football game.

*dubious chittering*

I'm pretty sure that's what she's missing. Okay, that's everything. Have a good one.

[OOC: You know what helps when you've written radio early? POSTING IT. Sorry, gang.]

The Devil's Nest, Friday Night

" It's a little bit funny... This feelin' inside. I'm not one of those who can easily hide. I don't have much money, but boy, if I did..."

It had been a while since Lucifer had been able to fully enjoy the simple pleasure of playing a good, basic piano bar tune. But he'd calmed down a bit.

Or more than a bit. He'd kept his eyes closed on that last line and hadn't even tried to wink at the audience! No, the Devil's hands were on the keys of the piano, Tiny was tending bar, the lights were dim.

And the Nest was open.

Needful Things; Friday

Hey, the Halloween decor had finally come down! Mostly because Bruce had gotten tangled in something and physically pulled a bunch of the decorations down first, but Harley had done the actual work after!

And now Needful Things was without anything specifically related to any holiday that was coming up, but Harley could probably be persuaded into looking for something shaped like a turkey if anyone came in with a need for one.

Otherwise, she was going to be slouching behind the counter with a book. It just felt like that kind of a day.

Rey's warehouse- Friday afternoon

Rey was determined. She was going to beat the pop-ups on the course today.

Or, more likely, she was going to get frustrated and accumulate a lot of bruises.

She was really throwing herself into it today, which might have been her way of dealing with leftover Feelings from the week. She'd been through the course several times, had fallen all of those times, dud something weird to her ankle once but not badly enough to stop... There had to be a way to do it. Without pushing that whole section into the lava, which was a very normal thought she'd had a couple times.

Weather & Storms, Friday, Second Period

Donald Blake had been called in for emergency surgery, and funny thing about that, Thor was suddenly unavailable to teach his class.

The students would arrive to a movie setup and a sign asking them to please enjoy this educational film.

It was possible he had selected a different film than the one being shown.

Day of Giving Thanks

"What isn't there a picture for?" Bucky muttered to no one in particular, looking up at the marquee.

He entered the theater with a very 'grumpy old man' type shake of his head.

(He would not be surprised to find out it was actually a horror movie.)

Driver's Ed: Drive Fast [Friday, Period One]

There was a screen all ready for the class when they arrived this week. And also the teachers. Because that was important too, you know.

"Sorry about last week," Jane said. "Things happened."

Things that weren't turning into kids at least.

Cara was more than happy to avoid that this time around. "Cars are not the only things that can be driven fast," she said. "There are also motorbikes."

Pity the movie was about a different kind of bike entirely, then.

Jane nodded in encouragement. "It's good to give you an idea."

Oh, bless her heart.

Hopefully you were all prepared for the eighties of it all...

Blackstone Forge and Foundry, Friday

It had only dawned on Henry yesterday that he had money. And that that money could be exchanged for goods more complicated and fantastical than merely dinner at supper club.

"You know," he said, as he gazed at a few dollar bills in front of the roaring fire of the forge. "I think Rey was right. It really does look a bit complicated."

The fact he was only recently literate and he kept getting distracted by all the squiggles and drawings and letters on the money didn't help, either.

Library, Thursday 11/20

The library wasn't quiet today but it was relatively calm. Sure, the gremlins were a bit exuberant while playing a card game that Belle was trying to follow the rules of but was hopelessly lost. Even when she crept closer to try to hear better.

Listening didn't help. She still had no idea what was happening but she was very curious about the cards. They were generally quite pretty!

Maybe if she observed long enough the gremlins would teach her to play? Or perhaps the knowledge would just trickle into her brain.

Food Adventures, Thursday, First Period

"Okay, everyone," Raiden said once his students had assembled, "today we're going to finish out our little mini-unit on Rome by taking a class on how to make pizza! And gelato, and I heard suppli might also be involved? Now, can you learn everything there is to know about pizza in one class session? Obviously not. I've taught whole semester-long classes on pizza, and there's still more to learn! But we're gonna have a fun time in Rome and eat some delicious food, and learn something along the way." Some of you would probably be learning what suppli were for the first time! "So let's get through our portal to Rome!"

Just because you asked to get paid in rum, I don't think anywhere else, even on this island, is going to accept it as payment.

*chittering*

I definitely am not going to trade you for it.

Moving on, the School saw Space Pirates, Pirates in Space download cars. Right. Meanwhile Health Education talked about luxury bones. Okay.

The Dorms were quiet, while in Town, there were holiday waffles at Over Easy, and horrifying noodles at Atlas Gym. Gregorith and Marc talked Park, and finally there was a Christmas tree up at the Devil's Nest, as well as Quinn not getting a drink.

Surviving the Zombie Apocalypse, Thursday Per 3

There were not many things that were stronger than Liliana's commitment to teaching...but one of those things was definitely 'celebrating herself,' and considering yesterday was her actual birthday, neither she nor Ignis were even on this plane today, nevermind prepared to teach a class.

And so a message went out informing the students that class today was cancelled. It's possible that had she realized next week's class would also be cancelled due to holiday, she might have chosen to attend class anyway.

Doubtful, mind. But possible.

Either way, it was moot. She was far, far from Earth, class was cancelled for today, and next week was plenty of time for her to remember that another holiday was coming up.

[Last vestiges of jetlag brain declares no class!]

Fandom Island Museum, Thursday Daytime

Winter holidays were just around the corner, so Steven was busy researching ideas for new things the Museum could do to educate and celebrate the season.

He found himself looking up the museums back home. And then getting distracted because the V&A had a rather interesting lesson on accessibility coming up soon. He wondered if perhaps he and Llewellyn could pop by while it was happening...

Which would be useful for the museum here as well! It was work related, truly!

One way or another, Steven was taking notes. He was also available to talk to any visitors who might wish to speak with him.

Atlas Gym; Wednesday [11/19].

Harvesttime at Soulwood had meant s lot of extra work that year, something definitely never bothered Nell and Gladio much. It did mean they'd been a little sparse around the island, though, but Gladio tried to pop back in here and there to take care of a few things, not to mention swinging by to see Prompto and Liz and the new baby, and then swinging by thee gym to make sure everything had been going okay and gremlins hadn't just ransacked the place without his eye on them.

All in one piece. No broken equipment. No new holes over the pool in the basement.

All good news, but none of it as good as the Cup NoodleTM claw machine had been updated with some holiday flavors.

Now that was going to be the perfect thing to munch on while catching up on paperwork and phone calls.

Atlas is open!

The Park, Wednesday Afternoon

Gregorith idly twirled his favorite pen, shaped like Mr. What's Musical Multi-tool(tm) as he circled the troll "statues", occasionally stopping and sketching something, paying special attention to the faces. And sometimes he'd tuck both pad and pen away so he could pull out his phone for picture taking.

He was possibly overthinking an art project.

Gray...was not thrilled by today's special. "But it's not even Thanksgiving yet," he protested, but his protests fell on deaf ears, considering he was the guy who had wanted it to be Christmas since November first.

Which was rather later than certain retailers had hopped on the Christmas bandwagon, so he had that going for him, at least. It was kind of nice not to be the most unreasonable about Christmas.

Health Education, Wednesday, Second Period

Don peered out the door, then closed it and locked it. Then he closed the blinds on the windows before he returned to the front of the classroom.

Look, you could never be too safe when it came to dentists.

"Let's talk about oral health," he said. "I know, not the most exciting topic, and flossing is a pain, but it's important. If you take good care of your teeth, you're less likely to have problems with them like cavities or them rotting straight out of your skull." For example. "Now, the dentists won't like that I'm out here talking about our luxury mouth bones without their permission, but," he dropped his voice to a stage whisper, "We just won't tell them, all right?" Don had procured a model mouth from somewhere (no one tell the dentists), and he used it to demonstrate how to properly brush and floss your teeth as he talked about the importance of doing so twice a day, avoiding a ton of sugar, and so on.

When he was finished he asked, "Does anyone have any questions?" If he looked around like he was expecting a dentist to leap out and hit him with a cease and desist letter, well, that was just the surgeon in him.
